I am a mother. I am a wife. I am a sister, a daughter, an aunt, a cousin.
I am a scrapbooker.
I have always been artistic, it just took me a while to find my outlet. I sew, needlepoint, and draw. I also enjoy cooking and baking. I have dabbled in scrapbooking since high school by adding memorabilia to my pictures, but something was still missing.
I found modern scrapbooking after our first daughter was born and I have not looked back. I really do hope that someday, my children look at my scrapbooks and really get who I am and how much I love them. Within the last few years, I've been introduced to mixed media and well, the world will never be the same.
My husband of 12 years and I have two sweet little girls, aged 9 and 3. They are funny, sassy, sometimes naughty, silly, gorgeous, loving, bright, often cheerful, diva-esque little princesses, and they are the lights of my life. I am lucky to be married to my best friend; I swear, I love him more every day. In real life, I am a portrait and wedding photographer, but my true loves are all at home. :)

Simple Sketches Reveal

Sketch #22 is live at the Simple Sketches blog!

Sketch reveals are always my favorite--I love, love, love to see what different people can do with the same building blocks!

I've made a canvas this week:

The background is created using various mists (Heidi Swapp ColorShine and Shimmerz Coloringz) sprayed on and then spread around with a dry brush.  The little wooden house uses several Tim Holtz Distress Paints and a couple of different masks.  I also used the TH pains on the Starbucks cup holder and along the bottom of the canvas.  A few strips of washi and a couple of flowers (a RAK from my friend Tena!) complete this housewarming gift.

Link up your projects over at the Simple Sketches blog...I'd love to see what you come up with!

Cupid Calling ;)

Today, I've got a sweet little layout using Pink Paislee's Secret Crush line, with pins from Maya Road and flowers from Pink Paislee and Prima. The ink is Heidi Swapp, and the doily is from my stash. You may find many of these items in a Flamingo Scraps Warehouse Combination Box. :)
Here's a close-up of the layering at the bottom:
This is my oldest daughter, Evelyn. She turned 10 last August. I had almost forgotten how very round her sweet little face was as a baby. :)
Happy scrapping!!

Simple Sketches #20

The new sketch is live on the Simple Sketches blog!  I have to admit that this is one of my favorites of late.  I think Ellie was given extra cuteness to balance out all her extra naughty.  It doesn't get much better than that face, a cupcake, and bright summer colors.  Happy scrapping, all!
